A race worth waiting for

There was strong support for Worth Waiting, who ended up being sent off 3/1 second favourite. Dropping back to 1m1f for her seasonal debut, jockey James Doyle ensured that he always had the filly on the pace of the race. Three furlongs out, he took up the running to go on and lead, scoring by a length at the line.

After the race trainer David Lanigan said "She has trained well up to this race and she is a stronger filly this year. From her first run of the year, with natural progression, you would expect her to improve for the run. The main thing is to try pick up a Group One. I think we will leave her at a mile and a quarter for the moment."

Congratulations to her owner Saif Ali. Well done to her groom Sky Sweeting (who also won best turned out), regular rider Louise Kennedy and all of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
