Kasperenko dominates at Chelmsford

Posted on: 17th May 2017 by: David R. Lanigan: Racing

Kasperenko lost his maiden tag at Chelmsford on Wednesday in a competitive 10 furlong Maiden. Sat in behind in the earlier stages by jockey Tom Queally, Kasperenko started to make his move about four furlongs from home taking the lead a furlong and staying on well to land the spoils by a decisive two-and-three-quarter lengths over hot favourite Grieg Hall.

Following the race trainer David Lanigan said, "He's done well over the winter and was unlucky in his last start at Lingfield. It's great for him to get his head in front, hopefully he can progress from this."

Kasperenko is by Archipenko out of the unraced Sinndar mare Jardin. His second dam is G1-placed Las Flores and he is from the family of G1 winner Producer and G2 winners Aiken, Sleeping Indian and Bach.

Congratulations to owners Miss Madeleine Delaney, Mr Ian Black and Middleham Park Racing. Well done to all of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
