Labienus was back in the winner's enclosure after landing a decisive victory by two lengths over the Godolphin-trained Future Reference. Sent off the 3/1 favourite, Labienus was held up in the rear of the field before he was shaken up about a furlong out to take the lead and score his second victory.

Labienus is owned by Mr. Bjorn Nielsen, he was a 105,000 guinea purchase from the 2011 Tattersalls October Book Two Sale, signed for by Mr. Jeremy Brummitt.

By Compton Place, Labienus is out of the Listed-placed mare Guermantes and is a half-brother to G1 horse Mar Adentro. He is from the family of Champion Al Nasar and Group winners Yasoodd and Kingsalsa.
