Light Of Joy shines at Bath

Sent off the 9/4 second favourite, she was settled in behind in the early stages by jockey Robert Winston before making a move over two furlongs out and rounding the field to take the lead a furlong from home and staying on nicely in the closing stages.

Following the race, trainer David Lanigan said, "She's a beautifully-bred filly that is strengthening all of the time. Being by Kitten's Joy, she appreciated the fast ground at Bath and won well. We will see what the Handicapper does to her on Tuesday and make a plan from there."

Light of Joy is by Champion US-based stallion Kitten's Joy. She is out of Light Blow, a winning full-sister to Oaks heroine Light Shift and Strawberry Fledge (dam of G1-winner Cloth Of Stars), Light Blow is a half-sister to Champion Shiva and is from the family of multiple G1-winner and Champion Main Sequence.

Congratulations to Flaxman Stables Ireland Limited, who bred and own Light Of Joy. Well done to her groom Emily Lynch and all of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
