Light Of Joy wins decisively

With the fast ground to her liking, jockey Fran Berry always had Light Of Joy in a handy position where she travelled nicely throughout. Slightly short of room, Berry was not able to make a move until a furlong from home, but she responded well, going on to score by 2 lengths.

Following the race, trainer David Lanigan said, "it was nice to get her off the mark on her first run of the year and hopefully she will improve as the season goes on."

Light of Joy is by Champion US-based stallion Kitten's Joy. She is out of Light Blow, a winning full-sister to Oaks heroine Light Shift and Strawberry Fledge (dam of G1-winner Cloth Of Stars), Light Blow is a half-sister to Champion Shiva and is from the family of multiple G1-winner and Champion Main Sequence.

Congratulations to Flaxman Stables Ireland Limited, who bred and own Light Of Joy. Well done to her groom Emily Lynch, regular rider Claire Fetherstonhaugh and all of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
