Placidia, sent off the 9/4 favourite, did not disappoint in this 1mile 3 1/2 furlong Handicap at Yarmouth on Wednesday. Chasing the leaders in the early stages she soon settled in behind early leader Dutch Rifle. She moved into contention about two furlongs from home and smoothly took the lead and cruised to an easy two-length victory.

Following the race, jockey George Baker said, "It was a very smooth and straightforward. It was quick enough for her but she won well and will hopefully build on that."

Placidia is from the first crop of Champion, Sea The Stars and is the 12th foal for her dam Palmeraie. She is a half-sister to eight winners including G2 winners Policy Maker and Pushkin and Lancashire Oaks (G3) winner Place Rouge. Her half-sister, Plante Rare, is the dam of G1 winner Planteur. Her dam, Palmeraie, is a half-sister to Peinture Bleue, the dam of Peintre Celebre. Placida was bred by her owner, Mr. Bjorn Nielsen.
