Worth Waiting, a winner-in-waiting

Posted on: 30th May 2018 by: David R. Lanigan: Racing

Following on from her two previous, promising maiden runs, Worth Waiting was sent off the 1/2 favourite. Danny Muscutt settled her in mid division until 2 furlongs from home, where he made his challenge to the front running Roddy. With a furlong to go, Worth Waiting took up the lead and dug deep, going on to win nicely by a length and half.

Following the race David Lanigan said "We will look for something better for her now, like a Listed race, and keep the option of Ireland open. She is a very straight-forward filly who only ever seems to do just enough but that's just the way she is. But she looks like she'll get a trip standing on her head."

Congratulations to owner Mr Saif Ali. Well done to her groom Sandeep Pawar, regular rider Louise Kennedy and all of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
