Worth Waiting rewards the patience

Ridden from a more prominent position this time, jockey Stephane Pasquier had her nice and relaxed throughout the race. She was shaken up 2 furlongs from home and was soon in the lead, where she remained, going on to win by an impressive 3 lengths.

After the race trainer David Lanigan said " We've always thought she was a black-type filly and early on in the season I thought she might be an Oaks type, but she had only one run as a two-year-old and didn't come in her coat early enough. We had a hard spring so I left her alone. We'll take it step by step this year because she's still strengthening. She's in everything at home and it's a question of whether we go up to a Group 1 this year or stick at Group 2."

Congratulations to her owner Saif Ali. Well done to her groom Sandeep Pawar, regular rider Louise Kennedy and the rest of the team at Rathmoy Stables.
